Butterfly Garden Marker
Things you will need
- Popsicle sticks
- Washable paint - any of your favorite colors
- Craft foam - 5 of your favorite colors and black
- Pipe cleaners - for antennae
- Paintbrush
- White paper
- pencil
- scissors
- newspaper
- Printed out butterfly template
Directions
- Spread the newspaper on your working surface to protect furniture
- Paint your popsicle sticks your favorite color and let dry
- Cut out your templates and place them on your foam - use the black for the bodies - trace them onto the foam with your pencil and cut them out. You will need 2 bodies, 2 sets of wings, and 12 accents pieces for each butterfly
- Cut pipe cleaners into 2 - 6 in pieces - bend one end of each to coil like antennae
- Place your pieces on the table and arrange the pieces on the wings the way you like. On one set of wings, glue the antennas in place. You will glue the black body over the antennas to cover them.
- You will glue the wings back to back, so arrange the two sets of wings and glue the accents and bodies on.
- When they are dry, turn one over and glue the top of popsicle stick to the middle undecorated back about half way up. Then apply glue to the 2nd side of the popsicle stick and glue your other set of wings on - matching up with the front - so that the butterfly is beautiful on both sides :)
- Allow to dry - and enjoy in the garden
